Check this link out. There are quite a few sections listed in the link that i think you'll wanna read and lots that may help you out with your current situation.
THE 1st GEN RX-7 FAQ PAGE! - RX7Club.com
Specifiaclly these two links from the above link...
(OTHER) End all for no start threads. (WARNING!!! BOOK INSIDE!!!) - RX7Club.com
(OTHER) Decarbonizing A Rotary (FEATURED ARTICLE) - RX7Club.com

Id go thru this one specifically after you get the car to where it runs. I would use a gallon jug or a can of cleaner poured into a jug. You'll understand when you read it. (ENGINE) Internal engine cleaning. What one can learn when he searches. - RX7Club.com

Carb answers for you.
(INTAKE) Carb Sizing Question - RX7Club.com

Oil Metering Pump info.
(OIL) Omg! Omp! - RX7Club.com
(COOLING/OIL) Rebuilding the OMP oil injection lines - RX7Club.com

Timing tricks for the FB (have you checked your timing yet?)
(IGNITION) Ignition timing tricks?!!?!?!? - RX7Club.com

Engine porting (because it always comes up)
(ENGINE) porting - RX7Club.com

As far as rebuilding the engine, how to tear it down and put it back together. Check out this. I believe its 12 parts...

And of course the rebuild kit, which you may or may not need all pieces included.
AtkinsRotary.com :: Rebuild Kits :: 79-85 12A...

Keep in mind that it is very possible to source all of the pieces listed above in this kit, for less money! You just have to take a note of what is in the kit, and then hit all the rotary performance websites and write down the price for the individual parts in this list, and then determine who has the cheaper pieces and buy accordingly

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
