You might also have a partially clogged drain on the evaporator. Find drain tube and blow air threw it. The water left in the pan or on evap is turning to bacteria. Turn on A/c and switch to OUTSIDE air and spray Lysol or odorizer into cowl to kill it. When running your A/c before you reach destination switch from Recirc to outside air should solve the problem. If you have a cabin filter it is probably a good time to change it.
