It had a broken oil shaft that eventually gave way and went through the side of the block.
That block was then replaced and built by Dave with all NEW parts. This is less than 2 years ago. I know this because I left Florida August of 2008. The motor was not put together until after I left. From what I was told it was not back together until september of 2008.
As for the HP. You may want to make sure the dyno is reading right. That car had a hell of a time making 570 hp on pump gas while on a dynojet. Now that comment is not meant to be a dick. This is just based on the setup I remember. Which had a PT67 with 75 ar compressor cover and 82 hotside with AMS manifold on 93 octane. If the setup is different I will admit that I am wrong.
actually the car has had some minor changes but it didn't have a problem making that power at bvp in Orlando except that it was need of some new spark plugs

. I just checked the tune for the first time in over a year and found out that it was running on 24psi making 580hp and 450tq so we turned it back up to 29psi where I had it tuned on the steets and it made over 600hp actually 630hp with 480tq. but yes the fuel has reached its limit on pump gas.
