i here all the time lighter 1k's are faster then the heavier zx14 well i know for sure the gsxr 1k is not...
so we started halfway though 1st. I pulled almost a whole bike on him but i shifted early (i'm not to good at judging where redline is and i tend to shift early). he shifted a 1/2 sec later then me and got about half a bike behind me.
by the time i shifted in to 3rd (yet again a little to soon) i was a full bike ahead again but he kept on the gas closer to redline then me and caught up a little... from 3rd to 4th i pulled more and by the end of 4th i had a good lead.. the guy i raced has been riding a lot longer then me and also agrees the 14 is a faster bike. by no means did i fly by his bike and unless i give it everything it has i will only slowly pull away from him...

the gsxr 1k is the black bike in the back, the bigger red bike is the zx14 i wish i had a better pic
around the corners he turns easier then i do, but its all in relation, sometimes i will dare to lean my bike more and get around the corner faster then him..IMO rider ability makes all the difference when i have yet to meet/ride with someone who has max'ed out what any of these bike can do...
I bought the 14 cause at the time a 1k was not practical for me, and even though the zx14 seems to impress me more and more everyday i kinda want a to trader her in for a liter bike...
