I believe I saw your post on LS1tech... But new key FOB is the ultimate fix, you may look into getting the VATS tuned out... Have you tried hooking up the battery and imediately having someone put the key in and try to start it. I believe I read somewhere theres a few second delay on the alarm going off after hooking up the batt. But cant remember...
