Yes this is True, However... There is a Reason Car Manufacturers don't just throw in a $70-$150 D2R type HID Kit and call it a day.
If You install an Aftermarket HID Kit in a reflector based Housing, You Will get an insane amount of Glare, Not to mention indirect aimed Light.
Projectors are your friend if you want to go True HID.
