the ls heads arent meant to rev that high. the bottom end will be fine to go to 7800-8000rpm. but the free floating rockers werent really designed to handle that high of rpms. ive seena lot of people over rev their ls heads and somehow the valve clearances will open up causing the head to make some nasty noises and they just gotta limp it home and do an adjustment.
you keep hitting 8 grand and you are going to throw a rod out the side of that block
