Would I have to reset the back lash? I mean if I leave the pinion gear alone and just swap the ring gear to the spool would that be ok?
You won't need to mess with the pinion, but you will need to check the backlash when you install the spool because it probably will change a little..... I would just check the backlash before you pull it apart and get it the same when you reassemble with the spool.....
