Tip-in does add addition fuel as well, depending on how hard you mash the throttle. If you're running rich already, that extra fuel may actually bog you down.
I don't think I'm running terribly rich. It doesn't smoke under acceleration anymore, I had a slight boost leak that I fixed.
The hesitation really only occurs when I floor it with a heavy load on the engine. Like from a low RPM or in a high gear... it's hard to explain. It just doesn't feel as fast as if I ease into it.
