Springs vs. Adjustable Coilovers
Posters all say different things because of our different experiences...
There is a lot of good advice from posters above me...and based on their own experiences, ALL of the posters are right!.....
-------------------------------
To make a car handle in the turns, an anti-sway bar will hold it level even if you don't lower it. That's my experience.
Rock hard short springs are not a substitute for a good sway bar.
Anyone is free to ride with me if they want to see what I'm talking about.

All shocks where the coil spring goes over/around the shock is a coilover.
Adjustable coilovers can be adjusted for height, either for looks or a person's driving style.....and sometimes to get the most out of a person's driving style, one car end has to be lower than the other.
If a person uses adjustable coilovers to drop the car down for a meet or a show, it's not a good idea to leave it down there for long without adjusting the toe, since when the body comes down, the toe-in changes. ......and the wrong amount of toe-in will eat tires faster than too much
negative camber. Lower the car enough and a camber kit will be needed to save your tires.
A good street lowering is about 1.5". It doesn't matter whether you get that 1.5" with "springs only" or adjustable coilovers. I install aftermarket suspensions for cars as well as modify stock springs to lower cars and that is why I believe what I do.
You can read more about suspensions in my shop forum.-Bob
