However, that gets incredibly expensive and difficult, so gen 3 3sgte is a great way to make some extra power on a budget. I'm actually planning on picking up that gen 3 and LSD kit from EMSpowered for myself as soon as i get the dough...
i think the problem is most people that reccomend beams and 3rd gen swaps have never had one, or driven one atleast.
ive been around mr2's for a a decade, ive swapped them, raced them, countless hours of working on them.
if you want NA power run a 3vz, its honestly a better and significantly cheaper swap. and dont you dare say otherwise unless youve had a chance to drive both.
honestly, i just dont see the advantage of a 3rd gen swap unless your dead set on leaving whatever you put in the car BONE STOCK.
we ran mid 12's and layed down nearly 300 wheel with a 2nd gen with absolutly nothing but a bolt on td06-20g kit.
i mean even stock manifold... just an adapter on the stock manifold, lines, the turbo, downpipe, 3"exhaust... thats it. went 12's on the 205 width 14" stock wheels. no tuning, stock turbo fuel pump, stock 440's
now, a stock 3rd gen motor will do nearly 300wheel stock... with a standalone.. lol but now your 5000 dollars into your swap
