I've been wanting to make a custom short shifter out of stock parts. My idea is to take spare shift plate and turn it into a 5mm thick spacer (rectangle with 6 holes). Then add 5mm to the shifter between the pivot and the lower bushing. Roughly stock height, new ratio can be calculated easily, and rewelding the lower section in a non-straight manner can adjust shifter position.
That's cool and everything but I've gotta ask you why? Not satisfied with other shifters? Too much free time?
