Alright back on freaking topic... fun is over!
SRT-4 or S2K for the OP's needs...
Both has positives and negatives so why not get opinions from its owners and or previous owners as well as those who have driven either or.
I read that the S2K is not forgiving in some weather conditions such as rain. But here is a negative for the SRT-4. If its on stock suspension height and stock suspension in general, just swerving lanes (even a swift lane change) the rear end of the car could "lift" and if your inexperienced you will lose control. They aren't that great in the rain depending on tires. Just a slight bit of gas the car can go spinning. Another negative is the crash rating. It is not a safe car persay. Many have rolled them. I can't talk for the S2K but I can talk about the SRT-4 itself.
The positive, its a non-interference motor. So there is a good average that if the timing belt breaks you can slap another one on and be good to go. Stock motor is capable up to 500whp WITH a safe tune though but I wouldn't try to draw the line on the threshold. The motor is pretty solid. Perform regular maintenance and not rag on the car you should have little to no problems. The car is pretty much easy to work on with the exception of a few things. It can be a well balanced car depending on what you use it for.
The negative, the turbo is located in the back making it a pita to do anything turbo related. The transmission itself, you can and could eventually have problems with the 3/4 gear synchro's. Proper maintenance and care could avoid this from happening sooner rather then later. The one's equipped with sunroof, the sunroof either gets stuck, breaks, and leaks water in. Some have had issues with the Multifunction Switch which can catch on fire. Some have had water leakage on the passenger side which has been stated its coming some how from the AC condenser (I believe there is a solution somewhere). The car is known for always having a boost leak of some sort so boost leak tests are atleast needed to be down at the minimum of every 3 months. The exterior paint itself... cheap.
That is just some of what I have to say for the SRT-4. I posted a lot more negative then positive because mostly people are concerned of the faults with a car when purchasing.
