Thats because only the Toyota america dealt with the outsourced american company to make the pedal assemblies. The cars that run the Denso units dont have any problems. Said "american" pedal company also supplies GM with their E-Throttles.
just to clarify, the cts pedals, (avalon, camry, corolla, rav, tundra, matrix) have an alleged problem with the pedal, the denso, (camry, camry hv) is a total different design, but the recall applies to both.
both pedals have to be trimmed, and the floor modified, and ecm reflashed (hv doesnt get the reflash since its already equipped with what the reflash does)
only difference is cts pedals get a reinforcement bar installed as well as the rest of the campaign.
also, if you saw how many cars i have to do these recalls to that come in with up to 7 floormats on the drivers side, wedged under the pedal, it would make you lose a lot of faith in humanity.
