Goop,
I would reccomend you start with the 125, you can get the 250, but as a starter bike your going to have more problems with fouling the plugs cause it gets loaded up, be cause your putting around on it. A 125 is fast enough.
On the Pre97 Frames, they were some sort of metal, not sure what type off hand, but you will notice a big weight difference with the newer frame, also the 97+ has better brakes, better suspension and is a better MX bike.
The 2 Strokes are alot less reliable if unmaintained, they need alot of prevenative maint. unlike most 4 strokes witch you can just add gas and go.
As for brand, starting out I would not worry about any of that, jsut get what is cheapest, get some good gear, and boots, and give it hell(well more like its going to give you hell)!!!!
Hope this helps.
Jesse
so unless constantly giving a 250 gas I will foul plugs?
is this a golden rule for 250's alone or a 125 also?
I mean 125's have a serious band also and because I want a 2 stroke I am gonna be revving the shit outa it constantly and I love that so it bothers me none.
I am not a beginner to riding but, I am a beginner when it comes to jumping alot of shit.My cousins all race up in NY and my lil cousin Sunny has a couple bikes, a King Cobra 50 CC that he grew out of a long time ago, and now he is on RM 80's I think and he is kicking ass, he is rated pretty damn decent in the US for his class.
I do plan on getting a CR more than anything else just because I have seen alot of Honda's being kicked around and just a good quality name brand I guess. My friend has a friend who is selling his 2001 CR250 for around 3k I think.Thats out of my league for quite some time so I really doubt im gonna spend that much.
I guess it all comes down to buying something older because its still gonna haul ass, it will be cheaper and I don want a beauty queen,I just want something that will scream and give me some weekend fun.
Jesse, thanks for all the help.
Chris
