Local Block Builders Vs Others
I am considering purchasing a built block to run a boosted setup in my 94 Teg. As of now, I am running a 00 GSR with a built bottom end for N/A. This question is for the members who build or have had built or the members who own or work at local shops...how is the pricing compared to those blocks you can purchase thorough companys such as IB or Motormatrix? Its a fairly high amount of money to spend on a built block, but considering my currently setup, which way would one go?
Example-1
IB Built B18a/B block for boost or All-Motor
Iron Sleeves for total strength and durability
IB Spec Wiseco Pistons, JE pistons, or Arias Pistons. You choose!
Eagle Rods or Probe Rods
Bore, Hone, Hot tank, Deck (if nec)
Balanced Crank
Polished Crank
All new Bearings & Thrusts
All new seals, and Oil pan Gasket
New VTEC oil pump
New VTEC water pump
LS/VTEC Oil line Kit with all fittings
Compressions come in 9:1, 9.4:1, 10.5:1, 11.8:1, 12:1, 12.5:1. 12.8:1, 13:1
Price: $3350 Shipped. These are the same sleeves people use to boost 35+ PSI. Very strong.
Or Example 2

Or Example 3
Have my current setup rebuilt with the nessacary parts to run 20psi+, ultimately wanting to reach the 350-400whp+range
Or Example 4
Piece together the parts I need to build a block then have a local shop put it together.
Sorry for the long post, and thanks Quickcivic for the info you previously gave me.
