i saved the del sol
i go to hcc autobody collision and the school got a donated del sol, if anyone knows the director of the program hes crazy full of ideas. he wanted to cut up the delsol into a truck just so he can have something to move around trash or parts from place to place. it has 131k original miles and the only thing wrong with it is the driver door latch inside is broken and it looks like the lady had hit something on the front bumper driver side. the hood looked like somene had jumped on it several times and it has a bad missfire. ac still works great! so i talked him out of distroying it by promising i would turn a crapy 240 into a truck.
DAY 1
heres the car after i washed it
i marked most of the dents around the car.the front bumper is bowed in on the side. both mirrors the paint is cracking and the roof and trunk have clear peeling off
pulled the hood and front bumper off and eraised the pin stripes and bumper stickers
someone had painted over the rear quarter panel stripes so the eraiser could'nt take it off
by this point i didnt have the tools to remover the mirrors so i got lazy and almost gave up.
they closed down the shop before i could start sanding the passanger side
DAY 2
i got lazy today it was non stop raining and the shop was gloom. finished sanding the dents on the passenger side and sanded down the rough pinstripe lines on both sides. heated up the front buper to get most of the dents out. removed mirrors antena gas lid and window moldings, the door handle is 100 times harder to remove than a civic so i just left them on and the same for the rear bumper ill look more into it tonight online.
