Might want to check out Hancooks Ventus V12s for the street. The Vette doesn't spin past 2nd on an off idle/mildly aggressive launch with 414 rwtq @ 3100 lbs. It does have 285's on it but on the stock GoodYear runflats, it would spin through 3rd on a whim as those tires were made out of concrete and wood. The new tires have tons of grip as well and aren't too pricey.
Just a thought to explore.
I'm sure you'll get used to it no matter what tires you're on. It's easy enough to do.
