Default Can't start when too cold?

I haven't ridden my bike since mid Jan. I usually start it every weekend and occasionally take it around the block. For some reason it refuses to start when it's really cold. It happened again this morning. I believe it was in the low 40s here last night? Everything seemed fine and it turns over as usual but I get no ignition. After several attempts of turning it over for 5-10 seconds it usually starts and runs perfect. Today I couldn't get it to start at all.

The battery is going on 4yrs old but it seems to be good. Gas is less than a month old and should be ok? Any ideas or is this a common thing?
