a car that runs an 11.8@126 on DRs and then runs an 11.6@123 on slicks was faster on the drag radials

Slicks CAN lower your MPH compared to a DR. It depends on the set up and the amount of tire pressure.

I trapped 3 mph less on a set of 26x10x15 ET drag slicks then a set of 275/50/15 MT DRs on the same day.

BUT, some of that was due to tire pressure, the DR's were at around 16 psi, where the slicks were only at 9 (lower then I needed them to be).

And you are correct, the 11.8@126 is faster then 11.6@123 , just as 11.6@123 is quicker then 11.8@126
