You know me Brian.. I'm like Mark when it comes to a T45. When it breaks I'll just buy another one. I had 3 spare T45's when I finally got out of the 4.6 motors. You can throw a gear at any rshared_pm. But they dont last. That motor you bought from me,.. the one I hurt pretty bad. I went through 6 or 7 of them in that car. I've seen it all. 3 of them got stuck in gear on me from bent shift forks, (It takes skill to limp a car home stuck in 3rd LOL) I had one completely lock up on me at 60mph on the toll road coming out of Cocoa Beach,.. that was a fun ride. I bent an input shaft at DH3 and I twisted another at DH5. And all that was done with a motor making barely 280 - 290.

But be realistic. I'm not saying a T45 is going to blow the second he lays into it with 600. It will last a good while,.. especially if he doesnt power shift it. But.. if he hits the track with 600 and the car sticks,. how many passes do you think it will take for the input shaft is damaged? I've seen LS1 cars break T56 input shafts making barely 500hp. Same with Terminators. 10 spline just werent meant for that kind of abuse.

But all that really isnt my point. In my mind I cant justify spending $1500 - $2000 for a clutch to put in a tranny that can be rebuilt for half that and will only be a matter of time before it blows again. I'm scratching my head trying to rationalize it. With that much HP on tap, he should buy a tranny like my TKO and then get a clutch to hold the HP. And if he's just going to be on the street 99% of the time,. then he wont have the traction to worry about bending the input shaft and in all honesty wont need a clutch that expensive. A Spec 3 or DFX should work for him just fine and both are fine for daily use. And neither one of those clutches are cheap.

I used to bitch about forking over $380 for the DF clutches I liked to use.
