yeah i know that if a cop asks to "search your car" you can simply state that you don't give consent for any searches or seizures. this states that you aren't saying "no" but if the officer doesn't have probable cause (plain sight law) and he searches your car anything found must be dismissed in court.
starting in the early 90's i know cali started putting restrictions on vehicles to try and stop street racers from modifying there vehicles such as bumper height, lense color, tinting, headlight placement, taillight colors, exhaust noise (DB's), and stating that all street legal vehicles running aftermarket parts must have an ID number and bar code printed on the mod stating it was 50 state legal. i even saw once that there is a horsepower restriction on certain motors, how the fuck they'd test that i don't know...
