Was there HONESTLY a noticeable difference? Could you even tell? I can appreciate the logic behind it, but I can't see it really doing anything major from the drivers seat. I'm not being a smartass for once, I'm just asking for an honest review.
If something so simple as adding foam to frame rails did anything, why wouldn't more OEM manufacturers do it?
Honestly, I've only said this 1000 times.... The car feels a lot stiffer when you foam the chassis. I'm not talking, "yeah I kinda felt that Nismo Power brace working". It really feels like a different chassis. I went with the 8 lb stuff on the S14 and it really stiffens it up versus the 2 lb injection kits that I used to use.
OEMs have been doing this for years. In fact, the first article in SCC back in 1998 said that Nissan foamed Q45's from the factory, and that the 2 lb FOMO kits were the recommended replacement for frame reconstruction. I'll do a little searching for more info. I posted a couple SAE papers on the subject before.
