Ive done plenty of restorations on rare english/european cars...its an excellent feeling and a great payout, but you REALLY have to pay the means, both monetarily and physically, to achieve the ends. Do yourself a favor and restore the entire thing, starting by stripping it down to a bare shell and having it sandblasted and powdercoated. Its cheaper than you think and youll never have to worry about the tub again.
