you are comparing apples and oranges sir. IMO an officer has a duty to put his personal fealings aside and do his job. yes, it may seem like a double standard but you cant have the police acting like common thugs. My grandfather was a police officer so I have respect for the job they perform. He even to his dying days said he was upset with how the police have turned into thugs with no respect for civilians. You as a military man can understand Im sure, that you should conduct yourself in a respectful manner. not only to represent yourself well but also to represent your country well. this goes the same for the police.
