When the WRC only allows one type of car to be made (Super 2000 series) and there is only 3 manufacturers that are willing to make such a car (Ford, Peugeot, Citroen), then it kind of defeats the purpose of competition in true rally, when the WRC was any production based car with a maximum dispacement of 2.0L, and a turbocharger that was limited by intake air restrictions to keep HP around 300 (This why subaru made the Type-RA EJ207 with a VF-34).
