On a parking lot, a STOCK turbo *should* be faster than me. It's a B-stock car. It's not as easy to drive, but if you can, it IS faster. I just have the OPINION that I don't like them much.
This whole thing goes to the point that autocross is about driving, not the car.
FWIW, GIR will NOT be the full course on the 11th and 12th. It'll be a "fairly" high speed autocross, with both fast and slow sections. I'll most definately see 3rd gear in my NA for reference. In a turbo, maybe not...we'll see. Also, if you plan on running street tires, you won't be that close at GIR against me on a fully opened track. I've done a "track day" there against the 400+ whp Supras, and 2 eleven second DSMs, one of which with a VERY competent driver. I run even with them if they're on streets, and I'm on race tires. ( I WILL be on Hoosiers at the 11th and 12th.)
And put Dave in the car, as I'd like to see a MR2 in Florida that's actually fast AND well driven. So far, Tony Alfano is the closest, and his car ended up getting killed by some moron. Luckily, Tony will be back VERY soon with a new car.
Also, if you'll look in the autocross forum of the board, you'll see schedules from all the different organizations that put on events.
GIR alone will host the CFR SCCA autocrosses on the 11th and 12th, the Martin Maxi-Prix on the 26th (I believe), a regular martin event on the 1st of November, and the Florida State Championships on November 2nd.
