^ i think thats more just for looks. I highly doubt the sho is being advertised by ford for off roading. As much as i love the the new taurus i would never take it off a paved rd reguardless of the awd. IMO I dont think it could handle rough terrain like the wrx sti or evo can. I wouldn't bring a GTX or TSI off road even though they are AWD.
