If done right I don't think it would have to be permanent.. and if it was then I'd have to have some more concrete cut out since the current lift fits snugly inside the hole when the arms are retracted angled back in.

Perhaps I can talk my father into welding up something while they are down here.. being the ex-boilermaker he is
