I was reseraching off camera lighting on strobist and was pretty amazed at things that can be done...I think I will look into an umbrella and softbox next but budget is definitaly there so I took one step at a time. I think that learning about basics first is very important because money can't buy you knowledge so having all the equipment in the world without knowing how to utilizing it and using it to do what you want is not worth a penny.

Yeah i totally agree. With off camera I (and alot of photogs on here) could give you a few suggestions on very cheap trigger/receiver combos and some cheap umbrellas to get you started. It is a whole new world of possibility that will make you fall in love with photography all over again.
