IIRC, I did the welding over 2 years ago now on a MIG, which is why there are tiny surface cracks everywhere as a function of cooling. I can assure you it won't break and that it's balanced enough to not destroy your bearings like plating will.

If you clean it out to be free of oil residue and bring it to me I will reweld it using TIG for free. How you like them apples?
