I downshift like I'm coming into a turn at Sebring lol heel toe FTW. I can get like 100k miles on these brake pads haha. Most people push in the clutch and put that shit in neutral then just use the brake wating for when they stop or takeoff again to put it in the right gear. I just downshift through the gears except 1st makes it easier and prepared to go again. Shifting gears is simple stuff, the only real thing to learn is use of the clutch. How much gas to give it and slipping it out. Not too fast to lurch the car or potentially stall, not to slow to ride the clutch like crazy. Research, learn, and try "heel toe downshifitng", "rev matching", "double clutching" (granny shifting not double clutching like you should be) lmao but there are times where this is usefull. Once you understand what you need to do the only real way to learn how is to try it and drive. Good luck
i do cylinder head work on the LOW!
