some cliff notes for you:

1. push clutch in
2. turn key to start
3. put in first gear
4. little bit of throttle and slowly release the clutch
5. let the car roll a little (at this point you should have the clutch completely depressed)
6. build some speed up (not too much, just listen to the car)
7. press the clutch in again
8. shift to 2nd
9. slowly depress the clutch while giving a little throttle
10. repeat this process

to slow to a stop:

2 ways...

Downshifting

1. press clutch and shift to one lower gear (example if in 3rd gear shift to second)
2. slowly depress clutch while matching the speed of the engine with the speed of the car (you'll figure that out eventually)
3. continue this process but be careful not to downshift too quickly at too high a speed for the gear
4. don't forget to apply the break!
**for the most part when you have your foot on the brake you will be covering the clutch.
5. when you are coming to a stop press the clutch in and put it in neutral

Easy stopping...

1. press in clutch
2. shift to neutral
3. apply brake

hope that helps.

oh...practice in a parking lot...not on the street. it's tricky at first.
