Proper Posting & Help - ( Read Before You Post )
How to title a thread
When you start a thread format it as follows please:
1. Every thread must start with FS or FT or WTB or WTT or Parting Out. You may use a combo, i.e. FS or FT:
2. After that follow it with "what" you have for sale or for trade or wanted to buy or parting out. Please include details and please be as specific and thorough as possible to avoid surprises.
3. Next if you have pictures put - Pictures. Pictures are the single best way to sell your item.
4. Finally if you have a comment put - "comment", i.e. Cheap or New In Box or $ amount. This is a good place to include your price, even if its already in your title.
Do not use symbols in the title. They pick up as words and will not help the search engine find you.
Take a look at the threads and you'll pick up on the format.
Here is an example:
FS: Shoe Helmet - Pictures - $3,200 - LIKE NEW
This helps the Search Engine find you to lead the Buyers to you.
It helps you sell the items you have by putting it right where the reader is looking.
Most importantly this is one of the steps we are taking to help users USE this forum.
Sincerely,
DRMORTY
Prohibited Practices:
1. Posting threads with no description. If you tell us you have something and how much but don't tell us anything about it, we won't really know if its worth it, now will we? And no, we do not want to call you for details.
2. Posting threads with a link to another ad for a description. Don't be lazy, this isn't a relay for your EBAY or Craigslist ad. If we wanted to view your EBAY or Craigslist ad we would search those sites.
3. Posting threads without a price. "Make offers" is not acceptable, nor is simply omitting a price, nor is asking us to contact you for price. We want to know what you want for your item.
4. Posting a thread asking to trade your car for a bike worth obviously more than it is worth. We've had a lot of this lately, especially with our import crowd. We're not idiots, and we're not giving you 100% of what you paid for everything in your car.
5. Posting a thread in broken English or using ebonics/other ghetto speech. We speak and read English here; if you require your thread to be proofread due to language barriers PM one of the bike tech mods, we'll be happy to assist.
6. Bumping your thread multiple times per day. There is no rule against occasionally bumping your thread, but please limit it to once per day - no, you do not have to have the first post in the For Sale forum for your item to sell.
Should you decide to disregard this and violate our prohibited practices list, your thread will be subject to immediate removal or edit at the mods'/admins' sole discretion. But even if we don't yank it, you can rest assured the members in this section will tear it to shreds by the end of the first page and we will not assist you until you conform your thread to the guidelines.
I'd say no bickering or arguing, but nobody would listen to me anyways. So just abide by these simple guidelines and your buying or selling experience here in bike tech should be a pleasant one.
