i think any car designed for to be fun, handle well, and have a sporty sense about it overall, no matter what its actual performance numbers are, can be a sports car.

that being said, FWD sucks till no tomorrow and was purely devised to be economical. FWD has absolutely no advantage over a RWD car as far as physics go, though when set up well they can perform decently, they will never triumph over a RWD car of the same caliber.
