we use a little bit of honda bond when installing a new valve cover gasket. just around the edges where the corners are on the main gasket itself.
btw if you find that the oil persists after this i would suggest a compression test and then a leak down test if you find that the compression is lower then where it should be. when your oil rings aren't sealing up and compression has dropped and it gets really bad you can start seeing oil on your spark plugs.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
