They require a smoothness of around 50ra from what I've read. A lot of people use copper spray and hylomar to help with sealing too.
when we put it together it was almost mirror finished and we didnt use the copper spray.it's only a 100 dollar fix im just going to use a oem head gasket and be done with.
i was warned about the cometic gaskets after i installed it lol.so it's whatever
