After a build I usually run the car (but not drive it) for about 10 minutes, then change the oil. That'll help flush out any nasty bits that made their way into the engine during the build process. Then drive it gently for 100 miles or so and change the oil and filter again. Don't drive WOT or lug the engine in high gear. After another 500 miles or so: change the oil and filter one last time, do a compression test, and if all looks good you should be fine.
As was stated before, use cheap dino oil for the first few cycles, then run whatever you normally would.
