Heads up 1/8 mile is like texas holdem in poker some people just can't do it. You need a consistent fast car and a consistent driver to be competitive. That's why most of the money racing has gone to 1/8th mile in the south.
6.50's is moving especially for a stock motor. The fastest stock motor lsx I've seen was 6.33 on a 2900lb turbo car. To see 6.50's on a stock 4 cylinder that has been running for so long is rare.
