I also bought this, works great. I never thought it would be so easy to remove the pulley bolt by myself. And I'm not a strong guy.

This should also work, but I would use an old belt between the chain and the pulley. The first pulley I had to remove, my stepdad brought over a strap wrench (sort of a fabric) and we had to use one of the old belts to get a better grip on the pulley. That was before I bought that tool though.
