They have made them AWD before and I'm sure they will do it again but I doubt the Civic will ever become mass produced as a RWD car. There are pros and cons about every type of drivetrain but the AWD and FWD are what Honda sees as practical. If you notice there sporty models have every different drivetrain. FWD, RWD, AWD and some of these models even have the SH system. But none of the economy level cars are being produced as RWD.
