yeah thats cool im assuming you regularly keep that thing clean and such but apparently some chemical those things have causes excess drying which leads to cracks if it isnt applied at good intervals, where as just wiping off with a rag or whatever wont leave it looking as black and shiny but it wont have any negative effects. i wish i knew what chemical it was.

Go with Aerospace 303 if you are gonna use something. Its water based and also repels dust
