Matt 4wd is optional, based off Acuras ''super handling awd''. This may be a stupid question, is there a difference between 4WD and AWD?
Usually 4WD splits power 50/50 between front and rear wheels and would be damaged if on all the time b/c it's deigned differently than AWD systems. AWD splits power 40/60*(Depending on the make, and design of AWD system) between front/rear wheels and designed to be on constantly. But I believe it's off-roading capabilities aren't as good as 4WD.
Edit: I found a link to this type of info right here.
What is the difference between full time four wheel drive, all wheel drive versus automaticall wheel drive
