Im not sure how an ebay intercooler could "cost you more eventually".. Sure its efficiency might not be as high as a big dollar peice, but its not like it could fail and cause engine damage.
I had a 3" Turbo back exhaust on my WRX and never had a single issue with it. Fitment was great, it didnt fall apart, and it sounded pretty good.
