You hadnt edited your post to include your actual wheel setup with the 15's, again, a little tire, a 205/50/15 is only a 23" tire, you could run almost anything for offset and not have it hit anything.
And yes a 215 is a stretch on a 9" wheel, you've got a tire sized for a 7-7.5" wheel, on a 9" wheel, put something even close to reasonable (a 245) on there, which is undersized compared to what most factory cars with a 9" wheel run, and you are going to have issues.
Please keep in mind, its great that you are rolling around on a stock KA, but even a lightly modified SR is capable of running bottom 13's in the 1/4 stock, and can benefit from some extra traction.
