Voltage and amperage vary inversely. The ranged tasers operate at something like 50,000 volts and are liable to kill you due to the dangerously high amperage.
It is possible, using additional batteries or capicators, so increase both voltage and amperage, but the capicator idea isn't good because you're down a lot of energy after the inital shot, so its best to just add batteries. 4 9-volt batteries, for example, at 775,000 volts, deliver a nasty shock capable of dropping a full grown man to the ground in about 2 seconds - full KO around 4-6 seconds. Meanwhile, the little stun guns like those "million volt" pens or cheap knockoffs midas well be one of those zapper handshake toys.
