I guess, I have a 92' 20ft center con Cobia that I've had in the family since I was 6 (21 now.) Its needed stuff, but its the original 115 yamaha which has never gone wrong. It has needed some wiring and we replaced the entire floor and stringers a few years ago but thats because it was at the end of its lifespan either way and it was used as a dive boat alot so the floors where always overloaded with gear. But we do everything ourselves so it was cheap it just took a few months to do. But now it has composit stringers and a new floor so it should last 30+ years.

We also have a 18 Polar salt flats boat and the only people we have with that is we keep blowing motors on it. But one was an older 115 merc and the other was a 90hp yamaha with direct injection oiling which is a stupid system. But luckily 2stroke. motors are alot cheaper now thanks to everyone going 4stroke

They are alot of work, but like I said they aren't to expensive if you take care of them and can do it all yourself.
