Didn't read all pages in this thread but there's a system called RAVELCO. It's not an alarm but they wire your car with plain black wire and ran methodically to make it look stock making it harder for thrives to find it. You get a round looking harness plug that u carry on your key chain and it plugs into the female counterpart mounted somewhere in your car. The car WILL not start without this plug. It won't deter the towing threat but I think if someone REALLY wants your car bad enuff, they can do it. I personally like the sleeper look and stay away from "flashiness".
