There were 6 cars taken from my neighborhood in one night and I am by far, no where near a bad neighborhood.
I know it sounds all "gangster" or whatever, but I've got people looking into who is doing this. It isn't the usual car thieves doing it. None of these cars have been to any of the major chop shops. This is either someone new to the area trying to make their mark, or someone from a nearby area (sarasota/orlanda/etc) trying to fullfil one huge order.
Keep your stuff locked up tight and do whatever you can to protect it. From what I have been able to gather, they are only taking cars that they can get into and maneuver... The basic process is, they are getting into them, breaking/disabling/bypassing, the steering locks, pushing them around the corner and up and into a big enclosed car trailer. They are scouting them out before they show up, so keep your eyes out for any cars that seem out of place. Cars that are just kinda hanging out that aren't typically in the area. They are taking the cars whenever the area is the most quite. My neighborhood was hit in the middle of the night, but that is because it is mostly older people that would be asleep at 2am on a tuesday night. Other areas have been hit in the middle of the day when the stay at home mom's are busy with little kids and all of the dads are away at work.
they were not that slick with mine they started it in the driveway and drove away. a few seconds soon and i would have caught them in the act.
