Well, I swung by today since I had heard about all the progress and I was happy to see that a lot had been done and the car is almost ready for fabrication of new charge pipes, downpipe and dumptube.
Seems there is a small delay because of the nitrous lines for the direct port, but that will get taken care of tomorrow.
Also seems the A/C bracket did not ship today and will not ship until tomorrow so we expect to have it friday.
Today we found more ghetto wiring and 2 phantom wires... wires that seem to have no purpose. Seems the main power for the radio was fished from the AMP's distribution box, nothing wrong with that, just OVERKILL. I know much more was done today, but in the short time I was there:
Tidy up the N2O wiring.
Tidy up the speaker wiring, amp and radio (still missing the remote wire cleanup.
1/2 N20 installed.
Oil return line fixed with more then the jelly jam icky stuff.
Walboro 255 fuel pump confirmed as being installed.
Removal of yet another light control box in the rear lower part of the hatch... I have pictures and will post that craziness tomorrow.
decided to empty fuel tank... realized we had no ecu to run the fuel pump...
Left to do:
Finish N2O
Wire in the Purge
Route the Purge line
Install intake manifold
Clean up the power line to the radio
Clean up the remote line to the amp
Remove A/C from "other" car
Install A/C in this one.
Find the one missing A/C line and install it.
Put dash back together
Verify all fluids... flush break fluid?
Then
Fab dumptube,
Fab downpipe insert wideband
Fab charge pipes
Then
By 9/22
Take it to Alpha
plug in Wideband to ECU,
plug in N2O to ecu
These guys at S&F have been really cool and flexible. More pics throughout the week since I'm back in town.
